  1. 1. Video Games: A negative effect of video games on society is that mature or "x-rated" games result in increased violence and inappropriate behavior among younger players. Another negative aspect is that people are less active or social because they are spending excessive amounts of time playing these games instead of going outside or interacting with others. A positive effect is that some games on the market do have educational value and teach lessons to players. It also provides as a source of entertainment.
    2. Satellite radio: A negative effect could be that a person may become less informed or aware of different, important reports if they have the option to pick their favorite music genre and listen to it completely free of any interruptions for as long as they want. Positive traits are that you can specify your music selection and its signal is able to reach beyond the typical ranges. This provides people with clear reception and easy listening to whatever station they want to hear from. The distance boundaries are broken.
    3. iTunes/ iPod: A negative effect is that if people are constantly connected to some form of technology or media, they miss out on conversations and events happening around them. You become less aware when you have constant entertainment (or distraction) in the palm of your hand. A positive effect is that it is easy and mobile. In some cases it has made exercising and being active more fun because you can take your music with you to the gym, on a run, etc. You can also download certain study guides and more to your device.
